I am fascinated by the passion people bring to their food, whether it is the farmer toiling in the field or the chef creating a masterpiece in the kitchen. I started this blog as Austin Farm to Table in 2008 to celebrate the local farms, food artisans and the restaurants that work with them in Austin and Central Texas.

Over the years, I’ve discovered so many intriguing real food stories around the country that I decided to expand the focus of the blog to help readers understand how we are all connected by food and how our real food system varies by region. Lillian Sonnenberg joined the team in 2013 because there were too many stories for just one person to tell them all well.
