French Bistro Pop-Up
March 15-20

2015’s French Bistro is going to be even better: Chef Rémi Fournier has invited the Michelin-starred Chef Gérard Bossé to create a pop-up version of his Angers restaurant ‘Une Île’. Gérard is Rémi’s mentor and one of the godfathers of the natural approach to cooking in France.

The Chefs will be cooking in an open kitchen at the French Legation with locally sourced ingredients to share their art and demonstrate every step of the performance that cooking is. These two Chefs are going to offer a unique experience: bringing their most delicious food and talented teams to Austin for 50 lunches and 50 dinners. Book your seat now!

Freebirds Live Music Fundraiser
March 18-21

Freebirds World Burrito returns to the St. Vincent de Paul stage for their sixth annual four day celebration of live music, fresh food and fundraising. Browse local artisan booths and enjoy Freebirds fare while listening to a music lineup featuring local Austin favorites and more. Funds from donations, food and beverage sales at the showcase will go towards a new a mobile store and distribution center that will supply clothing and household necessities to underserved parts of Austin. Music By the Slice
March 20-21

Come enjoy some great bands, hot pizza, cold drinks, and big time fun for the whole family at Home Slice Pizza! The event is free, open to all ages, and no RSVP is necessary! All proceeds benefit Urban Roots, a youth development organization that uses food and farming to transform the lives of young people and inspire, engage, and nourish the community. Schedule here.

Paella Challenge
Sunday, March 15, 11am-4pm

Watch as chefs and high school teams go head-to-head in competition to create the most impressive paella dishes cooked right before your eyes. All of the proceeds to benefit the Culinary Institute of America’s San Antonio campus. The ticket price is all-inclusive – meaning it includes entry into the event, sampling of amazing Paella and other tasty bites from the chefs as well as beverages (Beer, Wine, Sangria, Sodas & Water) and the entertainment for the day. Children’s Picnic and Real Food Fair

Cochon 555 is coming to Houston, Texas to celebrate family farms, heritage breed pigs and today’s emerging chef community with 5 chefs, 5 pigs and 5 winemakers. Embark on a journey to the new hyper-local culinary landscape, one whole pig at a time. Lamb Jam
Sunday, February 22

The American Lamb Jam is an epic tasting event and competition that brings together 16 talented local chefs to compete for your vote and the honor of Best Lamb Dish in Austin. Joining the chefs will be local breweries, winemakers and other local food artisans serving up tasty treats. Between bites, attendees can watch butcher demos, play in the interactive photo booth, meet local shepherds and concoct their very own lamb spice rub. Proceeds from Austin Lamb Jam will benefit The Austin Food & Wine Alliance. Official Drink of Austin
Thursday, February 26

Hosted by the Austin Food & Wine Alliance and Tipsy Texan. Six bar teams from local bars and restaurants will be selected in a rousing citywide competition to raise funds for culinary grants while trying to capture the title of Austin’s official drink. Information and tickets here.

San Antonio Cocktail Conference
Thursday, January 15 – Sunday, January 18

The first of its kind in Texas, and now in its fourth year, the San Antonio Cocktail Conference brings together top bartenders and cocktail aficionados for educational seminars, guided tastings and cocktail parties. Houston Street Charities and the Conference will once again donate 100 percent of all money raised during the Conference to benefit four children’s charities. Edible Austin Chef Auction
Thursday, October 9

Get your paddles up! Every year Edible Austin hosts an auction to raise money for non-profits Urban Roots and Sustainable Food Center. For the auction packages, Edible Austin works with local celebrity chefs to imagine an experience that you can’t buy anywhere else. Packages are great for intimate occasions with friends, office holiday parties, or great family affairs. Vote on your favorite chefs in town!

Enjoy hors d’oeuvres prepared by the Auction Chefs, cocktails created by mixologist Bill Norris of Midnight Cowboy and Paula’s Texas Spirits, world-renowned wine by Trimbach and chocolates served by Chef Nicole Patel of Delysia Chocolatier. 2014 Les Dames d’Escoffier “Food Fight”

The Food Fight! Online Charity Auction is the primary fundraiser for the Austin Dames Chapter. The funds raised from this auction directly impact our community funding culinary scholarships and farm-to-table initiatives. Due to the success of the 2013 Food Fight! auction, Dames were able to give a record number of scholarships to women pursuing culinary careers amounting to $4,000.
